It’s time to take the white hats off — and give them back to wardrobe

“Scandal” may not air its final episode for another month, but the cast is already learning to let go, as Friday was the last day of filming on the Shondaland series. And as they are starting to say goodbye, they’re sharing their feels with their fans aka Gladiators.

Showrunner Shonda Rhimes and cast members like Kerry Washington (Olivia Pope), Joshua Malina (Attorney General David Rosen), Darby Stanchfield (Abby Whelan) and Jeff Perry (Cyrus Beene) took to Twitter to commemorate the all important day in “Scandal” history. Grab a glass of wine and some popcorn before you read on, cause it’s about to get real emotional.

“It is happening — today is the final day EVER of production on my beloved @ScandalABC,” Rhimes wrote. “An amazing crew. A brilliantly talented cast. Spectacular writing staff. Extraordinary fans. Not one storyline regret. Let’s do this.”

“So fitting that on the last day of filming, we’ve all got a tremendous… #Scandal hangover,” Washington tweeted, referencing the that the whole crew had been up live-tweeting the most recent episode the night before, as per usual.

Washington also shared her tweet from the very first day of filming on the series, in addition to this gem: “Today I choose: gratitude. It will probably look & feel like many different kinds of emotions ???? but I want to keep my gratitude in first place.”

While Stanchfield tweeted a shot of her and Washington on set, Malina noted his new unemployed status and endorsed his on-screen attorney skills (where our “West Wing” fans at?)
