Scarborough Blasts Trump Physician: No ‘Respectable Doctor Would Say What He Said’ (Video)

“His own words are not the words of a physician, they’re the words of a political hack,” says Joe Scarborough of Trump physician Dr. Ronny Jackson

Joe Scarborough on Thursday blasted Dr. Ronny Jackson, the physician who earlier this week pronounced President Donald Trump 100 percent healthy following a physical exam.

“You won’t find a reputable doctor in America that will tell you getting four hours of sleep a night is good for you. They will all say the same thing. Get four hours of sleep a night and over time your cognitive abilities start to degenerate,” he said on “Morning Joe.”

“Not a single respectable doctor in America would say what he said,” he added.

In his remarks to reporters earlier this week, Jackson praised Trump’s habit of sleeping between four and five hours per night.

Scarborough insisted he was not impugning the doctor’s integrity, before immediately calling him a “political hack.”

“Are we questioning his integrity? No, we’re not. I’m just questioning his motivations. Maybe he likes eating at the White House mess hall. I don’t know,” said Scarborough. “But his own words are not the words of a physician, they’re the words of a political hack.”

The monologue from the MSNBC host came as part of a larger discussion of Jackson, who was criticized by the Washington Post’s Dana Milbank in his latest column for the newspaper.

“Rear Adm. Ronny Jackson was so effusive in extolling the totally amazing, surpassingly marvelous, superbly stupendous and extremely awesome health of the president that the doctor sounded almost Trumpian,” Milbank wrote. “And that time when Trump slurred his speech? Jackson blamed himself, for prescribing Sudafed. It was dry throat — exactly the diagnosis offered by the White House spokeswoman!”
