Scarborough Blasts Trump Reality Show: ‘This Is the Kardashians Come to Washington’

“People like watching this guy go crazy,” says Joe Scarborough on the set of “Morning Joe”

Joe Scarborough blasted President Trump’s administration as a “reality T.V show” and compared him to a “Kardashian” on Wednesday.

“This is a reality T.V. show and I’m not being glib about it. This is a reality T.V show. People like watching this guy go crazy. This is, this is the Kardashians come to Washington,” Scarborough said on “Morning Joe.”

The former congressman argued that Trump’s real danger wasn’t outrage and sex scandals, but becoming predictable.

The moment was part of a larger discussion on “Morning Joe” of how the president’s desire to stay in the news could lead to more unpredictable behavior.

MSNBC analyst John Heilemann used an analogy from “Rocky” to illustrate the point.

“I watched the “Rocky” series a couple of weekends ago,” he said. “Here’s the thing about sequels, in order to keep them interesting, the sequel has a different ending than the first one. Rocky loses the first one, but he wins the second one. It’s not going to be the same story the second time over.”

Time’s Deputy Managing Editor Michael Duffy was also on-set, and said that Trump might end up like the shark from “Jaws.”

“I always thought that after the third ‘Jaws’ movie you began to root for the shark because it got so boring,” he said to the “Morning Joe” crew. “You knew what was going to happen.”
