‘Scott Pilgrim’ Wins a Best-Picture Honor, Seriously

International Press Academy’s Satellite Awards pick “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World,” “Social Network” as the year’s best

The International Press Academy says that the best film of the year is …

Michael Cera"Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World"???

Well, yes, that's what they said at the 15th Annual Satellite Awards, which took place Sunday in Los Angeles.

But have no fear, they also said that "The Social Network" is the best film of the year, restoring a semblance of the order we've come to expect in this year's awards picture.

"The Social Network" was named Best Motion Picture, Drama by the IPA – which, like the Hollywood Foreign Press Association at the Golden Globes, hands out top honors for both drama and comedy/musical films.

"Scott Pilgrim" won the award for Best Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical – and just as "The Social Network" won additional awards for director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, do did "Scott Pilgrim" pick up a second honor for leading man Michael Cera, who was named Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical.

Yep, that's right: Michael Cera won a Best Actor award. But so did Colin Firth (Best Actor, Drama for "The King's Speech"), who is no doubt amused by the company.

On the actress side, the IPA went for a couple of offbeat choices: in the drama category, "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" star Noomi Rapace beat Natalie Portman ("Black Swan"), Nicole Kidman ("Rabbit Hole"), Jennifer Lawrence ("Winter's Bone") and Michelle Williams ("Blue Valentine"), among others, while on the comedy/musical side Anne Hathaway's performance in "Love and Other Drugs" topped Annette Bening and Julianne Moore in "The Kids Are All Right."
