Selma Blair has broken her silence after reportedly being hospitalized following a meltdown on a flight from Cancun to Los Angeles on Monday, admitting, “I made a big mistake yesterday.”

In a statement to Vanity Fair, the “Cruel Intentions” actress said that she “mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret.”

As reported by TMZ on Monday, Blair was carried off on a stretcher and taken to a hospital following the plane’s arrival at Los Angeles International Airport. During her outburst, Blair reportedly began crying and said, “He burns my private parts. He won’t let me eat or drink.”

The actress also reportedly said, “He beats me. He’s going to kill me.”

Blair had been vacationing with her ex-boyfriend Jason Bleick and their son, Arthur.

In her statement Tuesday, Blair noted, “My son was with his Dad asleep with his headphones on, so there is that saving grace.”

The actress went on to apologize, writing, “I take this very seriously, and I apologize to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath. I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry.”
