Seth Meyers and Jonas Brothers Get Day Drunk, Write Songs at a Shuffleboard Club (Video)

The results were better than you’d expect

Seth Meyers and the Jonas Brothers went on a day-drinking extravaganza together for Tuesday’s “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” and, somehow, at least one compelling pop song was written.

They were joined by Meyers’ brother, Josh Meyers, and “30 Rock” star Jack McBrayer as the group participated in the usual shenanigans that take place when one day drinks with Seth Meyers — plus some added musical flair in honor of the JoBros.

First, as always, Meyers concocted some cocktails with clever names that don’t taste good, like the First Born, which starts with 30-year-old scotch and is finished off with a tablet of Alka Seltzer.

In honor of the babies of the family, Seth made his brother and Nick Jonas a drink called The Baby, which starts with Kahlua, a little Hi-C juice, some Rosé  (“because that’s mom’s favorite, just like the youngest”) and is served up in a baby bottle.

Later, after some drunken shuffleboard playing and a beautiful rendition of Smokey Robinson’s “My Girl” but with the world “shuffleboard” in place of the word “girl,” the Jonas Brothers got around to doing what they do best — writing songs.

The actual pop-group and the spontaneously formed supergroup comprised of Seth and Josh Meyers plus McBrayer each  drew a random potential name for a pop song from a bucket and took five minutes to write it on the spot.

Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas ended up with a song called “In Bed by Nine,” while Meyers, Meyers and McBrayer had to write a song called “Drunk at Noon.”

The results of five minutes of brainstorming after a long day of day-drinking were… betting than you’d think. Watch the two groups perform their masterpieces above.
