‘Shark Tank’ Star: We’re Coming Back!

Business mogul says ABC’s Mark Burnett reality show has been renewed. The network’s take: Not so fast.

Has ABC renewed its much-loved (but modestly-rated) reality show "Shark Tank"?

According to a network spokesperson, the answer is no– at least not yet.

But don’t tell that to Robert Herjavec, the business mogul who’s also a regular panelist on "Tank."

"Great news – ABC has ordered more episodes of Shark Tank !!!! No air date yet – but it’s coming," Herjavec tweeted to followers on Halloween evening.

While Herjavec’s account isn’t verified by Twitter, his company’s official website includes a link to the same Twitter feed.

It’s possible, of course, that Herjavec might have tweeted something that isn’t yet true. He’s talent, not a producer, and this wouldn’t be the first time talent involved in a show has tweeted something that’s more "wish" than "fact."

But there are also plenty of reasons to think ABC might very well be leaning toward a pickup of the Mark Burnett/Sony-produced "Tank."

The series added nearly 40 percent more viewers from its August premiere to its October finale last month. That’s rare for reality shows.

What’s more, "Tank" is one of ABC’s highest-indexing shows among upscale viewers aged 18-49. Only "Grey’s Anatomy" and "Private Practice" have a higher percentage share of upscale ($125,000-plus) viewers than "Tank."

Stay tuned.
