Shay Mitchell Joins Hulu’s ‘Dollface’ in Recasting

Mitchell replaces previously cast Lex Scott Davis

“You” and “Pretty Little Liars” star Shay Mitchell will join the Hulu comedy series “Dollface” opposite Kat Dennings and Brenda Song, an individual with knowledge of the project tells TheWrap.

Mitchell will play Stella Cole, Madison’s (Song) other best friend from college, free spirit, and charming hedonist. She will replace Lex Scott Davis.

The 10-episode comedy series follows Dennings, who plays a young woman who must learn to deal with her own imagination in order to rekindle the female friendships she left behind after being dumped by her longtime boyfriend.

Margot Robbie serves as executive producer along with Dennings. Ira Ungerleider, who executive produced “Angie Tribeca,” seres as showrunner.

The project comes from writer Jordan Weiss (“Harley Quinn”) and ABC Signature Studios. Matt Spicer will executive produce and direct the first episode. Other producers include Brett Hedblom from LuckyChap Entertainment, Bryan Unkeless and Scott Morgan of Clubhouse Pictures (“I Tonya”).

Mitchell is best known for playing Emily Fields on Freeform’s “Pretty Little Liars.” She was recently seen as Peach Salinger on the Netflix series “You,” opposite Elizabeth Lail and Penn Badgley. She also appeared in the 2018 film “The Possession of Hannah Grace.” Mitchell is repped by UTA, Untitled Entertainment and attorney Robert Strent.

Deadline was first to report.
