Shooting at Little Rock Nightclub Leaves 28 Injured (Video)

“We do NOT believe this incident was an active shooter or terror related incident,” Little Rock Police says

At least 28 people were wounded in a shooting at a Little Rock nightclub early Saturday morning.

The gunfire erupted at the Power Ultra Lounge in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas around 2:30 a.m. local time. All 25 shooting victims were expected to survive. Three others were hurt in the post-shooting chaos, according to local police.

“We do NOT believe this incident was an active shooter or terror related incident,” the Little Rock Police said on twitter. “It appears to have been a dispute at a concert.”

One person who had been in critical condition was upgraded to stable, according to police.

“One is too many. Seventeen is very alarming and certainly disturbing,” Little Rock Police Chief Kenton Buckner told reporters, adding there were “probably multiple shooting suspects.”

Footage from inside the club posted online shows people dancing in the packed venue for Finese 2Tymes, a performer from Memphis, Tennessee, moments before a flurry of gunshots are fired.

About a dozen drive-by shootings have rocked the Arkansas capital this week, though the Associated Press reported that there’s no indication the events are linked.

“Little Rock’s crime problem appears to be intensifying,” Gov. Asa Hutchinson said in a statement. “Every few days it seems a high profile shooting dominates the news, culminating with this morning’s event. I have spoken this morning with Mayor Stodola and I have offered both my heart felt concern over this senseless violent tragedy and state assets as needed to address the continued threat of violence in our community.”
