A new boss is taking over CBS’s "Undercover Boss" following the exit of original showrunner Shauna Minoprio.
Chris Carlson, who has been VP of alternative programming at the Eye since March 2008, is leaving his role as a buyer and will now executive produce "Boss" for producer Studio Lambert. Minoprio is leaving "Boss" due to personal reasons, a person familiar with the matter said.
During production of season one, "We worked closely with Chris and could see clearly that he was an outstanding producing talent who has deep knowledge of our show and a great passion to make it even more successful in its second season," "Boss" creator Stephen Lambert said.
Thanks to the smart scheduling decision to premiere it after the Super Bowl, "Boss" has become a much-needed new alternative hit for CBS, regularly winning its Sunday timeslot.
Carlson had been a producer before joining CBS, working on the short-lived CW series "Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants" and "Farmer Wants a Wife." He also was a producer on the WB flops "Superstar USA" and "Big Man on Campus."
