Sir Mix-a-Lot’s ‘Baby Got Back’ Gets Seattle Symphony Treatment (Video)

Causing hordes of classy women to rush the stage and shake their big butt

In case you missed it this weekend, ’90s rap icon Sir Mix-a-Lot performed his hit “Baby Got Back” with the a full orchestra, and over twenty classy ladies who like big butts. Or shaking their own.

Mix-a-Lot, a rapper and producer most famous for his ode to cushy rear ends, performed with the Seattle Symphony at the Washington city’s Benaroya Hall as part of the Sonic Evolution series, which bridges the Symphony and “Seattle’s storied reputation as launching pad for some of the most creative musicians on the popular music scene.”

Before rapping about big butts to composer Gabriel Prokofiev’s orchestrated version of th ebeat, Mix-a-Lot invited ladies to the stage to party.

“Something you really should not do, but since tonight is orchestral movements from the hood night, I’m going to leave some of this open if a couple of ladies would like to get up on the stage,” he said.
