Will a long weekend at the end of August prove to be a smart launching pad for “The November Man”?

Relativity’s action flick, featuring former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan as a retired CIA agent pressed back into duty, took home $833,000 on Thursday, its second day in theaters. That closely mirrors its Wednesday grosses of $861,000 in 2,774 theaters.

Meanwhile, Legendary Pictures’ “As Above/So Below,” took in $470,000 in Thursday evening screenings. The horror film, directed by John Erick Dowdle and starring Ben Feldman and Perdita Weeks, is Universal’s first release for the giant genre production house.

Marvel/Disney’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” is expected to repeat as the box office winner this weekend, its third time on top. It returned to the winner’s circle last weekend a month after its monstrous $94 million debut.
