Snapchat Renews Sasha Spielberg-Emily Goldwyn Series “Literally Can’t Even” for Season 2 (Exclusive)

Mobile disappearing messaging app’s first original production gets a 10-episode order

Snapchat’s original mobile series “Literally Can’t Even” has been renewed, a company spokeswoman confirmed exclusively to TheWrap. Season 2 of the show featuring Sasha Spielberg and Emily Goldwyn and their (mostly) fictionalized misadventures in Los Angeles will premiere this summer.

Season 1 of the series, which debuted on Jan. 31, consisted of nine episodes which aired on Saturdays. In keeping with Snapchat’s ephemeral nature, each five-minute (or so) episode disappears after 24 hours.

“We’re very excited about ‘Literally Can’t Even,’ especially the creative storytelling and the unique, made-for-mobile, vertical video format,” Snapchat’s spokeswoman said.

In addition to being the mobile disappearing message app’s first original production, “Literally Can’t Even” has also drawn a lot of attention over Hollywood progeny Spielberg (daughter of Steven) and Emily Goldwyn (great-granddaughter of Samuel Sr.), who write and star in the show.

To celebrate wrapping its freshman season, Snapchat will somewhat counterintuitively run a marathon on Saturday, giving viewers a chance to catch up on all nine existing episodes. Spielberg and Goldwyn will provide a brief into and outro and fans will get to watch bloopers in addition to the complete first season.

The “Literally Can’t Even” marathon runs on Snapchat’s Discover channel Saturday, April 18
