‘SNL’ Stars Sanz, Parnell Back in Business With Ferrell

They’ll star in a new comedy project for TBS from Gary Sanchez Productions and Debmar-Mercury

Will Ferrell has recruited former "Saturday Night Live" cast mates Chris Parnell and Horatio Sanz for the new comedy he’s producing for Comedy Central.

Jon Heder ("Napoleon Dynamite") had already been cast in the untitled half-hour, which is being produced by Ferrell’s Gary Sanchez Productions and Debmar-Mercury. The latter company is using the straight-to-series model it used for Tyler Perry’s "House of Payne" over at TBS.

Parnell and Sanz will play Heder’s loser pals in the Comedy Central show. Parnell’s an ex-con while Parnell is a burned-out teacher. The trio will forever find themselves planning "well-intentioned schemes to save their hometown, Big Lake. Invariably these plans don’t come to fruition and the gang is forced to go back to the drawing board."

Hilarity will ensue. And if it does, Comedy Central has an option to order 90 more episodes of the show following an initial 10-episode run later this year.
