Cecily Strong delivered the ultimate spit-take during the “Weekend Update” segment of “Saturday Night Live” — busting up co-anchor Colin Jost as he repeatedly got soaked.
Strong appeared beside Jost as Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, who explained her loud, brash voice by saying, “Twenty years ago I yelled at a waiter because my Cobb salad had a cranberry, and now I’m locked at this volume for the rest of my life.”
She soon produced a full martini glass, suggesting the very wet business to come. “I haven’t been drinking — I currently am drinking,” she said. “I have vowed to enjoy a drink every time President Trump ignores a congressional subpoena.”
When Jost noted that Robert Mueller is likely to testify before Congress despite Trump, Strong’s Pirro spat out her drink — into Jost’s face.
The co-anchor lowered his head to his hand, but soon asked another question while first allowing Strong “to finish this next sip before I say this.” That promped his co-star to toss the contents of her martini glass into his face instead.
Then co-anchor Michael Che stepped in to offer Strong’s Pirro a new (and full) martini glass — to which she said, “Thank you, Kenan.”
Jost then decided to hold her arm while he asked his final question — but she just produced a hidden martini glass with her other hand to complete Jost’s onstage shower.
