Disney Channel star Sofia Carson has been unveiled as Radio Disney’s “Next Big Thing” in the first of several interstitials set to run on the cable network.
In her first segment as an “NBT” (above), Carson is seen getting ready for this month’s Radio Disney Music Awards, where she performed her first single “Love Is the Name.”
Radio Disney’s popular multi-platform program champions young recording artists, showcasing their developing careers and personal journeys as they pursue their musical dreams. Past “NBT”s include Fifth Harmony, Shawn Mendes and Kelsea Ballerini.
The show will continue to follow Carson in a series of videos on her path to launching her music career.
She is best known for her role as Evie in Disney Channel’s “Descendants,” which has been greenlit for a sequel. She will soon be seen in the cable network’s “Adventures in Babysitting,” a modern reboot of the classic 1980s comedy, starring opposite “Girl Meets World” actress Sabrina Carpenter.
