The editor of Star Magazine isn’t so bright. At least that’s the word from Sofia Vergara, who has lashed out at the publication over a report that she cheated on her husband Joe Manganiello.
The “Modern Family” actress took to Instagram on Wednesday to fire off a scathing post about the Star Magazine cover story, characterizing the magazine’s editor as an “idiot” and accusing the magazine of removing her wedding ring from a picture of her in order to create”fake news.”
I”The editor of this magazine is an idiot if he is going to have my ring removed to created [sic] a ‘fake’ ‘news’ he should have made sure that he removed from social media all the other pictures of that award night in Rome where I’m wearing it,” the actress wrote.
Vergara’s post was accompanied by a photo of the Star Magazine cover, which depicts the “Modern Family” actress standing next to a man who’s gripping her wrist. The photo is augmented with blaring cover lines including “Sofia Caught Cheating in Rome” and “Her wedding ring is off.”
The actress went on to explain in her Instagram post that the man pictured with her is a producer on her upcoming film “Bent.”
“By the way…that’s my friend the producer of the movie Bent that I was shooting in Rome and who came to spend Easter at my home the week later,” the actress wrote.
Vergara polished off her social media vent with the hashtags “#Starmagazinebullies” and “#goinventsh*itaboutyourmother.”
Manganiello. also got in on the Star-bashing act, fuming in his own Instagram post that the magazine is “run by malicious trash.”

“Big surprise everyone but Star created a fake story and then photo shopped my wife’s engagement ring off of her finger in order to sell magazines,” the actor wrote. “They are run by malicious trash. Do the world a favor and don’t buy their garbage.”
