“Son of Zorn” is not your typical family comedy, in oh-so-many ways. So, why would one expect typical father-son sitcom girl advice out of its He-Man-esque lead?
On Sunday, the Fox animated/live-action hybrid will bring Alangulon/Alan to papa Zorn’s new local dwelling, which the two agree looks “like a place where crackheads go to have sex.” Not a lot of natural lighting in that abode.
The half-animated young man is seeking guidance about the fairer sex from his previously estranged cartoon dad. He gets … something.
“I just understand women on a deeper level than most men,” Zorn (Jason Sudeikis) says in the above preview clip, which is exclusive to TheWrap. “I listen, you know that’s really a big part of it — you’ve gotta listen.”
“I’m kidding!” he quickly adds. “I’m screwing with you! No, I used the Stone of Sight.”
Zorn then introduces his boy to the weapon, which allows one to see what anyone in the world is currently doing and would be “dangerous in the hands of evil.”
Alangulon immediately dials in to his crush, Nancy — or as Zorn calls her “the Elfish, waifish Asian maiden” — who is waiting tables.
