David O. Russell and Spike Jonze are both linking up with Sony.
Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has acquired international distribution rights to an untitled project from each director, both of which were funded by Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures.
Russell’s feature will star Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper with a script from Eric Warren Singer. Atlas Entertainment developed the project, and the company’s Charles Roven and Richard Suckle are producing.
Jonze’s film, which he also wrote, will star Amy Adams, Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Samantha Morton and Olivia Wilde.
SPWA has rights for Latin America, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, South Africa, Australia/New Zealand and pan-Asia pay TV.
