The Southeastern Film Critics Association, made up of more than 40 journalists working in nine southeastern states, have added their voices to the recent glut of film awards, handing the top prize to Jason Reitman’s "Up in the Air."
"The Hurt Locker" was the runner-up, with its director Kathryn Bigelow winning the organization’s Best Director award.
Acting winners were the usual suspects: George Clooney for "Up in the Air," Meryl Streep for "Julie & Julia," Christoph Waltz for "Inglourious Basterds" and Mo’Nique for "Precious."
In one of the only mild surprises, "(500) Days of Summer" beat "The Hurt Locker" in the screenplay category.
