Ratings: NBC’s ‘Spartan’ Premiere Runs Roughshod Over CBS’ ‘BrainDead’

But ABC’s NBA Finals game dominates Monday primetime

NBC’s “Spartan” just stepped on CBS’ “BrainDead,” en route to a pretty strong series premiere.

Of course, ABC’s NBA Finals game crushed everything across primetime on Monday.

ABC was first in ratings with a 5.1 rating/17 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 14.1 million, according to preliminary numbers. The “Jimmy Kimmel Live” special at 8 p.m. ET earned a 3.0/11 and 10 million viewers. “NBA Countdown” at 8:30 posted a 3.5/12 and 10.2 million viewers. Game 5 began at 9 and averaged a 6/19 and 16.2 million viewers throughout its actual primetime period.

NBC was second in ratings with a 1.8/6 and in viewers with 6.2 million. “American Ninja Warrior” at 8 p.m. ET landed a 1.9/6 and 6.8 million viewers. At 10, “Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge” debuted to a 1.5/5 and 4.9 million viewers.

Univision was third in ratings with a 1.2/4 and fourth in viewers with 2.8 million.

CBS was fourth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and third in viewers with 4.4 million. Following reruns, the “BrainDead” premiere at 10 p.m. ET managed a 0.7/2 and 4.5 million viewers.

Fox and Telemundo tied for fifth in ratings, both with a 0.6/2. Fox was fifth in total viewers with 2.6 million total viewers; Telemundo was sixth with 1.6 million.

For Fox, “So You Think You Can Dance” at 8 p.m. ET had a 0.8/3 and 3.5 million viewers. At 9, “Houdini & Doyle” got a 0.4/1 and 1.8 million viewers.

The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.3/1 and in viewers with 1.1 million. “Reign” at 8 pm. ET received a 0.3/1 and 957,000 viewers. “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” at 9 had a 0.4/1 and 1.1 million viewers. A rerun followed.
