ABC’s “The Bachelorette” puts other entertainment shows on ice

Stanley Cup Finals 2019

Monday marked a happy Memorial Day for Boston Bruins fans — and for NBC. The broadcast network won last night’s primetime with Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals when the Bruins beat the St. Louis Blues 4-2.

Beyond the hockey rink, ABC’s “The Bachelorette” kept the other entertainment shows in check. The holiday saw plenty of encores.

Due to the nature of live sports, the below fast national Nielsen numbers for NBC should be considered subject to significant adjustment.

For NBC, the hockey game earned a 1.5 rating/7 share among adults 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers. That spanned the entirety of primetime.

ABC was second in ratings with a 1.0/4 and in viewers with 4.2 million. “The Bachelorette” from 8 to 10 p.m. had a 1.1/5 and 4.7 million viewers. Reruns followed.

Fox was third in ratings with a 0.5/2 and fourth in viewers with 2.3 million. “Beat Shazam” at 8 got a 0.6/3 and 2.4 million viewers. A repeat followed.
