OK Trekkies, we’ve got a bit of an update for you.

“Star Trek Discovery” should now premiere “late summer/early fall,” CBS boss Leslie Moonves said Monday during his time on stage at the 2017 Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference.

“Probably,” he added.

Moonves referred to the new “Star Trek” as “the family jewels” of his over-the-top streaming service, CBS All Access. He likely meant “crown jewel,” but maybe not.

The show’s release has already been pushed several times thus far, which the CBS chairman and CEO explained away by stressing how important it is to get “Discovery” — and All Access itself — “right.”

CBS All Access has north of one million subscribers, Moonves reiterated today, though he wouldn’t go further into exactly how much higher.
