Starz’s ‘Power’ Hits Ratings Records With Season 2 Premiere

The 50 Cent-produced drama grosses 3.62 million total viewers over weekend

The Starz drama “Power” returned to the air for its second season on Saturday, drawing record numbers on multiple fronts for Starz.

In Live Plus Same Day numbers, the “Power” premiere at 9 p.m. pulled in 1.43 million viewers, the most ever for a season premiere of a Starz original series.

Over the full weekend, the premiere grossed 3.62 million total viewers, besting episode five of “Spartacus: Vengeance” to become the most-watched episode ever for a Starz original series.

Compared to the first season of “Power,” the Season 2 premiere also showed considerable improvements, tripling the 462,000 viewers who tuned in for the June 2014 series premiere and enjoying a 32 percent increase over the Season 1 finale, which drew 1.08 million total viewers.
