Looks like we might have solved the case of how "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" plans to deal with the loss of Christopher Meloni and the diminished role of Mariska Hargitay.
"SVU" alumnae Stephanie March and Diane Neal will be returning to the series in its upcoming 13th season, reprising their roles as assistant district attorneys Alexandra Cabot and Casey Novak respectively, NBC confirms to TheWrap. It's unclear how many episodes of the season the pair will appear on.
Last month, the network revealed that "Chase" actress Kelli Giddish and "Cold Case" actor Danny Pino had signed on to become the series' new detectives, following the departure of Meloni, who had played Detective Elliot Stabler. Ice-T, who plays Detective Odafin "Fin" Totuola on the series, recently signed on for at least two more seasons.
