Stephen Colbert Has a Perfectly Reasonable Explanation for Nancy Pelosi to Be ‘Nervous Nancy’ (Video)

Nervous All of Us

Donald Trump did his childish nickname thing for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, and Stephen Colbert has a perfectly good explanation for her to be “Nervous Nancy.”

But first, on Thursday’s “Late Show,” Colbert kicked off his monologue by lampooning Trump’s latest stop on his European tour, this one in Normandy, France, to honor a very important day in our shared history.

“Today, solemn day, it’s the anniversary of D-Day, when we beat the Nazis once and for- until very recently,” he opened.

Seven minutes later, in the same general joke cluster, Colbert moved on to mock Trump’s latest attempt to mock Pelosi.

“Then Trump unveiled a new nickname for Nancy Pelosi,” the CBS late-night host set up, rolling the clip of Trump dubbing her “Nervous Nancy” to local media.

“Yeah, something about me having control over the nuclear arsenal just makes her skittish,” Colbert did as-Trump. “I don’t know what it is.”

Thanks for the reminder — have a restful weekend everybody.
