A sexual assault case involving “Under Siege” star Steven Seagal is currently under review with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, a representative for the DA told TheWrap on Thursday.
The case came under the district attorney’s office review after being presented to the DA by the Los Angeles Police Department on Wednesday.
This now makes two cases involving Seagal that the district attorney’s office is reviewing. In February, the district attorney’s office said that it was reviewing a case that was presented by the Beverly Hills Police Department on Jan. 31.
Earlier in January, former actress Regina Simons and Dutch model Faviola Dadis told TheWrap they recently filed reports with the LAPD against the actor, but the D.A. would not say in February whether they were involved in the new case, or if it involved a different woman.
“A case was presented to our office on Jan. 31 by the Beverly Hills Police Department involving Steven Seagal and is under review,” D.A. spokesman Ricardo Santiago told TheWrap in February.
TheWrap broke the news that the Los Angeles Police Department was investigating Seagal for a sexual assault case from 2005.
More than a dozen women have accused Seagal of sexual misconduct. TheWrap reported in January that Simons accused him of raping her at his home in Beverly Hills in 1993, and Dadis said he groped her during an audition, “pinching my nipples and grabbing my crotch area with his other hand.”
Seagal has previously denied the accusations made against him, saying that his accusers had “lied and been paid to lie about me without any evidence, any proof, any witnesses.” TheWrap has reached out to a representative for Seagal for comment on the new case.
In addition to the new Seagal case, the D.A.’s office said Thursday that it is reviewing a sex assault case involving “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson, which was presented by the Los Angeles Police Department on Wednesday. It is also reviewing a sex assault case involving Harvey Weinstein, which was presented by the Beverly Hills Police Department in June. That marks the sixth case involving Weinstein currently being reviewed by the D.A., following two previous cases presented by the BHPD and three cases previously presented by the LAPD.
