Even Thanksgiving weekend is all about football.
NBC finished first on Sunday night, with CBS close behind in terms of overall viewers.
In the key 18-49 demographic, Fox climbed atop ABC for third place, despite not airing any pigskin. Last week, the Disney-owned broadcaster aired with “American Music Awards,” which took a big hit year over year.
NBC was first in ratings with a 4.8 rating/14 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 14.6 million, according to preliminary numbers. Those Nielsen numbers are a combination of the network’s 90-minute pregame show and as much of the actual Kansas City Chiefs-Denver Broncos game as it could cram into primetime.
CBS was second in ratings with a 2.6/8 and in viewers with 14.2 million. A NFL overrun at 7 p.m. scored a 6.2/20 and 24.3 million viewers. At 7:30, “60 Minutes” earned a 3.9/12 and 19.3 million viewers. Starting around 8:30, “NCIS: Los Angeles” averaged out to a 1.8/5 and 12.7 million viewers. At 9:30, “Madam Secretary” received a 1.2/4 and 9.2 million viewers. The half-hour of “Elementary” at 10:30 had a 0.8/3 and 6.8 million viewers.
Fox was third in ratings with a 0.9/2 and fourth in viewers with 2.1 million. An “Ice Age” Christmas special at 7 got a 1.0/3 and 3.3 million viewers. At 7:30, “Bob’s Burgers” posted a 1.1/3 and 2.4 million viewers. The rest of the night was all reruns.
ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.8/2 and third in viewers with 3.5 million. Following a repeat, “Once Upon a Time” at 8 put up a 1.0/3 and 3.3 million viewers. At 9, “Secrets and Lies” received a 0.7/2 and 2.8 million viewers. “Quantico” at 10 closed ABC’s evening with another 0.7/2, but slipped from its lead-in to 2.3 million viewers.
Univision was fifth in ratings with a 0.6/2 and in viewers with 1.6 million.
Telemundo was sixth in ratings with a 0.5/1 and in viewers with 1.4 million.
