The CW is eyeing another potential spinoff of its long-running “Supernatural,” TheWrap has learned.

“Wayward Sisters” will follow the story of Sheriff Jody Mills (played by Kim Rhodes) and a group of troubled young women, all of them orphaned by supernatural tragedy. Under Mills’ training and protection, these women will emerge as a supreme monster-fighting force.

“Wayward Sisters” will be introduced as a backdoor pilot during the upcoming thirteenth season. Robert Berens & Andrew Dabb will write and executive produce, along with Phil Sgriccia and Robert Singer.

Previously, a potential spinoff titled “Bloodlines” was introduced as a backdoor pilot on “Supernatural” in the ninth season, but did not go forward. That project was also written by Dabb and directed by Singer.

The CW executives and “Supernatural” producers have always maintained they were open to other spinoff ideas for the Jensen Ackles-Jared Padelecki series after passing on “Bloodlines.”
