“Survivor” just dominated “Empire” — and everything else — handing CBS an outright win on Wednesday. “The Amazing Race” sure didn’t mind starting its new season behind the night’s No. 1 show.
NBC aired a trio of “Chicago” drama repeats last night. ABC’s entire comedy block was reruns, though the Disney-owned broadcaster did run an original “Whiskey Cavalier” at 10.
CBS was first in ratings with a 1.1 rating/5 in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 6.1 million, according to preliminary numbers. “Survivor” at 8 p.m. posted a 1.5 and 7.8 million viewers. “The Amazing Race” season premiere at 9 landed a 1.2 and 5.8 million viewers. “SEAL Team” at 10 had a 0.7 and 4.6 million viewers.
Fox was second in ratings with a 1.0/5 and third in viewers with 3.5 million. “Empire” at 8 got a 1.1 and 3.8 million viewers. At 9, “Star” received a 0.9 and 3.3 million viewers.
NBC, ABC and Telemundo tied for third in ratings, each with a 0.5. NBC and ABC both had a 5 share, Telemundo had a 4. NBC was second in total viewers with 3.9 million, ABC was fourth with 2.8 million and Telemundo was fifth with 1.4 million.
For ABC, “Whiskey Cavalier” at 10 had a 0.5 and 2.8 million viewers.
Univision was sixth in ratings with a 0.3/2 and in viewers with 1.1 million.
The CW was seventh in ratings with a 0.2/1 and in viewers with 759,000. “Riverdale” at 8 had a 0.2/1 and 829,000 viewers. At 9, “Jane the Virgin” got a 0.2/1 and 689,000 viewers.
