‘Survivor’s’ Probst Staying on the Island, Lands Promotion

No shocker: The Emmy-winning host will be back for two more seasons of the CBS staple

Just in time for Thursday’s premiere of the latest "Survivor," Jeff Probst has announced he’ll be back for two more cycles of the CBS series.

In addition, Probst has been promoted, rising from a producer on the series to executive producer.

The news follows the recent announcement that CBS had ordered two more editions of  "Survivor" But while the series was renewed, Probst apparently needed a little more time to make up his mind about returning.

There was probably little chance Probst would exit. Still, the star had publicly fretted about whether it made sense for him to continue.

In the end, Probst decided not to walk away from the franchise that made him a star.

"Even in my wildest dreams, I couldn’t have predicted we’d still be going strong 10 years later," he said.

Probst announced the news of his re-upping via Twitter, natch. CBS followed with a press release.

We’re still waiting for someone to give him a deal to host a daytime talk show. Our take: Probst could be the next Phil Donahue.
