‘Tacoma FD': TruTV Renews Comedy From ‘Super Troopers’ Duo for Season 2

Comedy stars Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme as a pair of firefighters in the rainy Washington town

TruTV has renewed “Tacoma FD” for a second season, with an increased 13-episode order.

The half-hour comedy stars “Super Troopers” duo Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme. The series is set in a firehouse in one of America’s rainiest cities. Light on blazes that need extinguishing, these firefighters keep themselves entertained with creative competitions, friendly first responder rivalries and no shortage of bizarre emergency calls.

Chief Terry McConky (Heffernan) and Cpt. Eddie Penisi (Lemme) lead the firehouse shenanigans and are joined by an eclectic crew played by Eugene Cordero, Marcus Henderson, Gabriel Hogan and Hassie Harrison. “Tacoma FD” is executive produced by Heffernan and Lemme alongside David Miner and Greg Walter from 3 Arts Entertainment and Kyle Clark from Silverscreen Pictures.

After hearing about the season two pick up, Lemme and Heffernan said, “While we realize this should be a time for rejoicing, our first thought is: ‘Damn, guess we gotta grow those mustaches back.'”

The second season will premiere in 2020.

The renewal comes as WarnerMedia is aligning TruTV with its other Turner cable networks TNT and TBS, which is now under Kevin Reilly, whose team is now in charge of all of Turner’s main cable networks. Chris Linn departed as head of the network as part of the move.
