Before the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers move into their new home ahead of the 2020 NFL season, Taylor Swift is throwing the teams a massive housewarming party.
The pop star on Tuesday announced tour dates in support of her new album, “Lover,” which kicks off in the U.S. with the opening of the new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood that is currently under construction ahead of the 2020 NFL season. There will be dates Europe prior to this stop.
With this tour, Swift will be the first female performer to host the opening concert at an NFL stadium. It will be the first of a two-day festival called “Lover Fest West,” which takes place July 25 and July 26, 2020.
Swift will follow that date with a two-night stand at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts for “Lover Fest East” on July 31 and Aug. 1. The two sets of concerts are Swift’s only American dates for now.
SoFi Stadium, which announced its naming rights over the weekend for the digital financing company, is located in Hollywood Park in Inglewood and is a 298-acre sports and entertainment venue being developed by Stan Kroenke, the owner of the Rams, Denver Broncos and Arsenal. The stadium was originally supposed to open this year, but was pushed back for the 2020 season.
Swift’s latest album “Lover” debuted at number one in the U.S. and sold 3 million units in its first week.
