TCA: ‘Day One’ Gets Cut Back — Again

NBC confirms the show’s order has been trimmed even more.

It’s down to two hours for "Day One."

NBC chief Jeff Gaspin Sunday said the post-apocalyptic drama will now be a simple two-hour backdoor pilot that may or may not air this season. Originally ordered as a series, and then trimmed to four hours, "We only shot two hours," Gaspin said.

"Heroes" writer Jesse Alexander is behind the project, which had lots of pre-season buzz but now may not fit into the blue skies vision being articulated by Gaspin (our assumption; he didn’t say that).
