TCA: ‘Entourage’ Will Come to an End Next Summer

HBO’s president of programming Michael Lombardo confirmed the network will air additional episodes of “Entourage” after the current seventh season before ending the show in summer 2011

"Entourage," HBO's comedic look behind the entertainment industry, will continue after season seven is scheduled to end Sept. 12. HBO programming president Michael Lombardo revealed that the network will be running at least six additonal episodes of the show, after that, "Entourage" will end its run.

TheWrap exclusively reported that HBO would order up more episodes of "Entourage" on June 21. As we said then, the network hasn't decided how many extra episodes to order or whether they will be season eight or part two of season seven.

"Entourage" originally debuted in 2004.

Lombardo made the announcement about "Entourage" at the annual TCA summer press tour Saturday. Lombardo said HBO will "finish up this season" before doing a "shorter order" of at least six more episodes. "Entourage" will wrap up after the additional episodes air next summer.

"I think next summer will definitely be the final season of 'Entourage,'" Lombardo said.

"Entourage" creator Doug Ellin is interested in doing an "Entourage" movie. Lombardo said the network will be working with Ellin on other projects whether or not they end up doing a film version of "Entourage."
