Charisma Carpenter said that her new docu-series for Investigation Discovery, "Surviving Evil," — which premieres Aug. 28 — aims to inspire viewers, and suggests it could inspire other networks.
Two decades ago, The "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" alum survived a violent attack and helped to put the man away. "Surviving Evil" shares similar stories of women (and at least one guy) who had fought back in their own way against their attackers.
Carpenter wasn't sure what the official advice from law enforcement would be in cases of being attacked, but said, "Your chances of surviving increase if you fight immediately."

She especially warned the room that your chances of surviving an attack reduce exponentially if you allow yourself to be taken to a second location.
When asked what she thought about the violence and murder against women that's popular on TV series today, she declined to judge them for their content.
"I don't really dwell on it," she said. "I don't dwell on what networks put out. I just dwell on what I'm doing. What we do is very classy and told through a documentary-style."
"Maybe that format will inspire other networks to do the same," she added.
