‘Tell Me Your Name’ Star Sydney Sweeney Undergoes Exorcism in First Trailer (Exclusive Video)

Jessica Barth and Bruce Davison co-star in horror film premiering at Cinequest on March 3

Where “Call Me by Your Name” was romantic, the much more demanding title “Tell Me Your Name” looks a lot creepier.

So much so that in the first trailer for the horror film, Sydney Sweeney (“Everything Sucks) undergoes an exorcism like no other.

“Do I scare you,” Sweeney’s character, Ashley, asks her boyfriend before kissing him and biting off part of his tongue.

Things get even more sinister for Ashley after she unknowingly invites in a demonic force into her life.

Jason DeVan directs the film inspired by true events about a teenage girl (Sweeney) who moves in with her aunt (Jessica Barth) in her late mom’s hometown. As she struggles to adapt to her new life, she feels her mom’s presence and tries to reach out to her mother from beyond the grave. But doing so leaves her fighting for her soul when a demon possesses her body and leads a local reverend (Bruce Davison) to perform an exorcism.

“In the name of Jesus Christ, tell me your name,” Davison bellows in the trailer. You can even check out the demon’s menacing, throaty noise on the film’s website.

Sweeney also stars on the Netflix teen series “Everything Sucks” and will next be seen in the second season of “The Handmaid’s Tale” and the upcoming HBO series with Amy Adams “Sharp Objects.” Her co-star Barth will speak at TheWrap’s BeConference starting on March 11.

“Tell Me Your Name” will make its premiere at the 2018 Cinequest Film & VR Festival in Silicon Valley on March 3.
