“The Walking Dead,” “The Godfather,” Muppets, even “Hillbilly Handfishin'” — trust us, you wanna watch — get the treatment over the holidays

From cable channels' signature reality shows and cartoons for the kiddies to classic movie series like "The Godfather" and "Lord of the Rings" to more dysfunctional sitcom families than you can shake a turkey leg at, TV networks have once again packed the Thanksgiving weekend with, well, a marathon of marathons.

Here, 86 worthy of your precious Turkey Day weekend couch and channel-surfin' time:

THURSDAY
"Arrested Development," 6 a.m.-6 a.m. Friday, IFC. Snag the comfiest spot in front of the TV and make them bring the turkey and trimmings to you during this delicious 24-hour marathon of all things Bluth.

"Beef," 6 a.m.-6 a.m. Friday, Fuse. Yes, it's a whole series about feuding celebs. Better them than your Thanksgiving Day co-celebrants, right?

"The Godfather" marathon, 11:30 a.m.-4:30 a.m., AMC. In that 17-hour stretch, the network plays "Godfather I" and "Godfather II" twice each, and that's something to be thankful for: everyone, it seems, wants to pretend "Godfather III" doesn't exist.

"Speed Racer: The Next Generation," noon-9:30 p.m., Nicktoons.

"The Waltons," noon-11 p.m., GMC network.

Muppets movies marathon ("Muppet Treasure Island," "Muppets From Space" and "The Muppet Christmas Carol"), 1-7 p.m., The Hub.

"Lord of the Rings" 10th anniversary marathon, including all three movies, which will be played repeatedly through Sunday evening. The marathon begins at 8 p.m. on Encore.

SATURDAY
"The A-List: New York," 6 a.m.-2 p.m., Logo. This reality drama revolving around a group of gay men in NYC — including "The Amazing Race" alum and Lance Bass ex Reichen Lehmkuhl — is nicknamed "Real Housewives … With Balls," and it is the most fun a "Real Housewives" fan can have outside Bravo.

"Battlestar Galactica," 6 a.m.-9 p.m., BBC America.

"Law & Order: SVU," 6 a.m.-9 p.m., Cloo.

"Wicked Attraction," 8 a.m.-2 p.m., ID.

"Everybody Hates Chris," 9 a.m.-7 p.m., BET. A must-see episode of this underrated sitcom about Chris Rock's childhood: "Everybody Hates the Guidance Counselor" (2:30 p.m.), in which Rock guest stars as the guidance counselor of his teenage self.
