‘The Daily Show’: Trevor Noah Suggests Mueller Could Learn from Stormy Daniels, Spank Trump (Video)

“You know Robert Mueller is watching this interview, right?” Noah said of Daniels’ interview on “60 Minutes”

The March for Our Lives was atop the headlines around the world and on “The Daily Show,” but it wasn’t the only news story from the weekend. Host Trevor Noah noted that Donald Trump made so much news in the last few days, there wasn’t time to cover it all on the Comedy Central news satire show.

Noah goofed on a heap of Trump news items, ranging from the firing of H.R. McMaster as National Security Adviser and the hiring of “elderly Lorax” John Bolton in his place, to Trump’s reluctant signing of a new spending bill to avoid a government shutdown. But the bit of news that most captivated America, and “The Daily Show,” was the interview adult film director and actress Stephanie Clifford, stage name Stormy Daniels, gave to Anderson Cooper on “60 Minutes.”

Noah discussed the interview and suggested Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating the Trump campaign for possible collusion with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election, might have learned a few tricks from Daniels on how to deal with Trump. You can watch the video above.

In the interview, Daniels told Cooper that Trump had started their first encounter in 2006 by talking about himself, and mentioned a magazine that featured a picture of him on its cover. Daniels wasn’t impressed, and told Trump that someone should spank him with it. She told Cooper she jokingly encouraged Trump to drop his pants and that she spanked him with the rolled-up magazine.

“From that moment on, he was a completely different person,” Daniels said in the interview. “He quit talking about himself and he asked me things, and I asked him things, and it just became more appropriate.”

Noah cut back from the interview with a disgusted expression. “Ew,” he said.

But then Noah suggested that Daniels might have just given Mueller an edge if he were to interview Trump.

“You know what makes it weirder, is that when he’s spanked, he (Trump) becomes a nice guy and starts opening up,” Noah said. “You know Bob Mueller is watching this interview, right. And now he’s going to walk into that interrogation room with a rolled-up magazine like, ‘Okay, Donald, it’s time to talk about Russia.’”

Noah went on to impersonate Trump as Mueller spanked him, spilling all the beans on the Russia case.
