Ratings: The CW’s ‘The Flash’ Hits the Ground Running With Season 6 Premiere

Fox’s “Empire” slips to another set of series lows

“The Flash” Season 6 is off the races, and The CW series got off to a decent start with its premiere on Tuesday, which earned a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49. That made the series steady with the Season 5 finale.

Not bad for The CW, but not nearly enough to compete with the big boys on broadcast television.

NBC was first in ratings with a 1.3 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and second in total viewers with an average of 7 million, according to preliminary numbers. “The Voice” at 8 p.m. posted a 1.5/7 and 8.4 million viewers. At 9, “This Is Us” landed a 1.6/7 and 7.2 million viewers. “New Amsterdam” at 10 received a 0.8/4 and 5.3 million viewers.

CBS was second in ratings with a 0.9 and first in viewers with 8.8 million. “NCIS” at 8 posted a 1.1/6 and a shade under 11 million viewers (10.98 million). “FBI” following at 9 p.m. with a 0.8/4 and 8.6 million viewers. At 10, “NCIS: New Orleans” drew a 0.7/4 and 6.7 million viewers.

Fox was third in ratings with a 0.8 and fourth in viewers with 3.2 million. At 8, “Empire” continued to slip in the early parts of its final season, posting a 0.8/4 and 2.9 million viewers. At 9, “The Resident” drew a 0.7/4 and 3.6 million viewers.

ABC was fourth in ratings with a 0.7/5 and third in viewers with 3.7 million. At 8, “The Connors” posted a 1.1/6 and 5.7 million viewers. “Bless This Mess” followed at 8:30 with a 0.8/4 and 3.9 million viewers. Kickoff off the 9 p.m. hour, “Mixed-ish” posted a 0.7/3 and 3.4 million viewers. Black-ish” finished it off with 0.7/3 and just over 3 million viewers. Drama “Emergence” garnered a 0.5/3 and 3.1 million viewers at 10 p.m.

Univision and The CW tied for fifth in ratings, both with a 0.5. Univision had a 3 share, CW got a 2. Univision was fifth in total viewers with 1.5 million, CW was sixth with 1.4 million.

For The CW, “The Flash” at 8 had that 0.6, a 3 share, and 1.6 million viewers. A rerun followed.

Telemundo was seventh in ratings with a 0.4/2 and in viewers with 1.1 million.
