Hulu made an excellent promo decision when they dropped a new teaser for Season 2 of “The Handmaid’s Tale” on Thursday. Oh, in case you didn’t already know, it’s International Women’s Day. And who could truly appreciate a day like that better than the ladies of Gilead?
In the new look at the second installment of the dystopian drama, Offred rattles off a list of the horrible elements of female oppression she endures with the other handmaids: “Wear the red dress, wear the wings, shut your mouth, be a good girl.”
The video flips through scenes from the haunting new season, until we see our heroine standing in a white dress, stained with blood. She offers up a defiant and very liberating, “Seriously, what the actual f—?” before being cut off as the screen fade to black.
Season 2 of “The Handmaid’s Tale” will premiere with two new episodes on April 25, with subsequent episodes released every Wednesday, on Hulu.
