‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ to Produce Daily Podcast Through Spotify’s Megaphone Company

An option for people who “love television but hate the visuals“ launches Monday

“The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” announced Tuesday the launch of its new daily podcast, “The Late Show Pod Show with Stephen Colbert,” which will premiere Monday on any podcast service.

In the trailer advertisement, Stephen Colbert asks, “Do you love television but hate the visuals? Do you wish you could get the freshest topical comedy one day later? Do you have one or more ears?”

“If you answered yes to any of these questions,” Colbert continues, “You’re going to love our new podcast, “The Late Show Pod Show with Stephen Colbert.” Every day, you get everything you love about the “Late Show in convenient pod form. It has our ripped from the headlines monologues, the meanwhiliest meanwhiles and scintillating interviews with newsmakers and celebrities all baked fresh and delivered piping hot straight to your podcast feed.”

Megaphone, a Spotify company, will host the podcast. The showcast will contain the same audio dialogue as the visual show, featuring all of the hilarious monologues, performances and revealing conversations with guests across entertainment, politics, news, music and comedy that “The Late Show” is known for.

“The podcast space is growing exponentially, and it proves that audiences are consuming their content in a variety of ways across platforms that serve their needs,” said Chris Licht, showrunner and executive producer of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” “As we continue to grow Stephen’s overall brand, we’re excited to officially launch this audio experience for ‘Late Show’ fans.”

After the premiere episode, the showcast will roll out on a daily basis.
