‘The Son’ Sneak Peek: The McCullough Men Still Can’t Get Along (Exclusive Video)

Eli and Pete have another tense conversation which reveals the nature of their relationship

The McCullough men just can’t seem to manage to get along, in the next new episode of “The Son.”

In this exclusive clip (above), Eli McCullough (Pierce Brosnan) approaches son Pete (Henry Garrett) and yet another tense conversation ensues, this time revealing something deep at the root of their issues.

Somehow the conversation of Pete’s romantic life comes up, and Eli confronts his son about sneaking around with neighbor Maria Garcia (Paola Nuñez). Pete retorts that ended a long time ago, he married his now-wife Sally (Jess Weixler) because his dad told him to.

“You could have said no,” Eli retorted and Pete is startled, as if the idea never even occurred to him.

The ten-episode, one-hour drama traces the transformation of Eli, the patriarch of the McCullough clan, from good-natured innocent to calculating killer. He loses everything on the wild frontier, setting him on the path to building a ranching-and-oil dynasty of unsurpassed wealth and privilege. The series explores how Eli’s ruthlessness and quest for power triggers consequences that span generations, as the McCulloughs’ rise to become one the most powerful family dynasties in Texas.

The series is based on Philipp Meyer’s bestselling novel of the same name. Cast members also include Jacob Lofland, Paola Nunez, Carlos Bardem, Zahn McClarnon, Jess Weixler, David Wilson Barnes, Sydney Lucas, James Parks and Elizabeth Frances.

The show is executive produced by showrunner Kevin Murph, co-creators Meyer, Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman, director Tom Harper and Sonar Entertainment’s Jenna Santoianni and Tom Lesinski.

“The Son” airs Saturdays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
