‘The View’ Host Sunny Hostin Criticizes Co-Hosts for Making Antisemitism a ‘Both Sides’ Issue (Video)

But Sara Haines pushed back, saying “we focus on just white supremacists, or do this, it’s convenient for our narrative”

The hosts of “The View” butted heads on Friday, as Sunny Hostin criticized her colleagues a bit for saying antisemitism is an issue on “both sides” of the aisle. For Hostin, that’s not a fair or accurate assessment.

The conversation led the day’s Hot Topics, with the women discussing the response to recent antisemitic comments from major public figures like Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and Kyrie Irving. But, in discussing the issue, hosts Joy Behar and Sara Haines argued that both Republicans and Democrats have contributed to the rise in antisemitism, with Haines saying, “I think the danger here is this crosses the entire political spectrum, this crosses all walks of people.”

“By the way, it’s not just from the right, it’s from the left also,” Behar agreed. “But the difference is that when it comes from the left, the Democrats speak out against it. When it comes to the right, it’s silence. That’s the difference.”

But Hostin disagreed and chastised her colleagues a bit for saying so.

“The thing is, if you think about it, far right extremists, far right extremists are responsible for the overwhelming majority of domestic extremists related murders in 2021,” Hostin said. “The FBI director made it very clear that this was coming from one group. So this is not an argument, in my view, that you should both sides. You need to call out where it’s coming from.”

But Haines pushed back on that, saying “the unique part of antisemitism is it actually is pretty equally represented and allowed on both sides. Full stop.” To that, Hostin bluntly said she disagrees.

“When we say ‘but,’ and then we focus on just white supremacists, or do this, it’s convenient for our narrative,” Haines said. “The problem is racism is racism is racism. Everybody gets called out it doesn’t matter what color you are, what ethnicity you are.”
