The Weinstein Company has announced dates for three of its 2017 films: “Mary Magdalene,” “The Current War” and “Wind River.”

“Mary Magdalene,” a biblical biopic about the disciple of Jesus, will hit theaters in limited release on November 24 before expanding throughout December. The film is directed by Garth Davis, who helmed TWC’s “Lion,” which received six Academy Award nominations. “Lion” star Rooney Mara plays the title character. Helen Edmundson and Philippa Goslett wrote “Mary Magdalene,” which also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tahar Rahim, and Ryan Corr.

“The Current War,” which chronicles the feud between two moguls developing reliable systems of delivering electricity in the late 19th century, will bow on December 22 in limited release, with a moderate expansion on January 19, 2018. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Thomas Edison and Michael Shannon as George Westinghouse. Alfonso Gomez‐Rejon directed the movie, which was written by Michael Mitnick. It also features Katherine Waterston, Nicholas Hoult, Tom Holland, Matthew Macfayden, and Tuppence Middleton.

“Wind River,” a thriller about a rookie FBI agent who teams up with a local game tracker, will open limited on August 4 and expand wide on Aug. 11. “Hell or High Water” screenwriter Taylor Sheridan is making his directorial debut in the film starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen. The cast also includes Gil Birmingham, Jon Bernthal, Julia Jones, Kelsey Asbille, and James Jordan.

For the record: A previous version of this story misidentified Mary Magdalene.
