‘The X-Files’ Season 11: Mulder and Scully Track Down Their Son in First Trailer (Video)

Fox sci-fi series returns in early 2018

“The X-Files” Season 11 turns the focus to Fox Mulder and Dana Scully’s son, William, as seen in the Fox series’ first trailer.

Video released during New York Comic Con on Sunday provides the first look at the beloved sci-fi show’s new 10-episode season that premieres in early 2018.

“You have to find him, and you have to stop him before he unleashes hell on earth,” Scully (Gillian Anderson) tells Mulder (David Duchovny) from a hospital bed in an apparent reference to William.

Fans haven’t gotten new “X-Files” episodes since Season 10 aired its finale in February 2016.

The upcoming season made headlines in June over criticism that creator Chris Carter had assembled an all-male writing staff and no female directors. Fox Television Group co-chairman and CEO Dana Walden told reporters in August that two female writers had been added to the show’s team.
