In his first role after landing an Oscar nomination for “Call Me by Your Name,” Timothée Chalamet will star as King Henry V in the upcoming Netflix film “The King,” an individual familiar with the production told TheWrap.
Chalamet will play a young Henry V, who takes over the throne after his brother is killed in battles. Though initially apprehensive about wearing the crown, Henry V is in power during a tumultuous period where England is on the brink of war with France, and the British Empire is trying to stay afloat. As history has proven, the second monarch from the House of Lancaster steps up to the occasion.
Plan B’s Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner will produce. Michod, Edgerton and Liz Watts (“Animal Kingdom” and “The Rover”) are also producers on the project. UTA reps Michod and Watts.
Chalamet is repped by UTA.
Deadline first reported the casting news.

Tiffany Haddish
Tiffany Haddish had been lauded for her comedic prowess in Universal's "Girls Trip," and even won the Best Supporting Actress Award at the New York Film Critics Circle for the role. Now she has four other projects lined up: "All Between Us," "The Oath," "Limited Partners" and "Night School."

Bill Skarsgard
Who could forget Bill Skarsgard's creepy Pennywise in the horror hit "It?" The actor haunted kids all over the world in September but also starred in "Atomic Blonde" this year. He will next star in "Castle Rock," "Assassination Nation" and the "It" sequel.

Sofia Boutella
Yes, the actress also was front and center in 2015's "Kingsman: The Secret Service," but this year, she was all over the place. Her steamy sex scene with Charlize Theron in "Atomic Blonde" made headlines, and the 35-year-old also had the villainous lead in "The Mummy."

Daniel Kaluuya
"Get Out" has received praise from critics and fans alike, and Daniel Kaluuya received a solid round of acclaim for his lead role in the sleeper hit. It makes perfect sense that he has been nominated for a Golden Globe this year.

Barry Keoghan
Did Barry Keoghan's performance in "The Killing of a Sacred Deer" make anyone else uncomfortable -- just because he was so incredible?

Porgs
OK, so we're not exactly sure who played the Porgs, but they were the best part of "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." If fans have it their way, these little bird-like cuties will have their own standalone film before you know it.
Brooklynn Prince and Daniel Kaluuya also emerged with some of the year’s most memorable roles
