Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers made their way back to Studio 8H on Thursday, providing a bit of a lift to “Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update.”

The NBC comedy was up in total viewers from last week’s launch, helping NBC land in second place for the night. CBS led the way in total viewers and adults 18-49, with “Big Brother” ranking as the most-watched show of the evening.

Thursday’s numbers were likely inflated due to NFL preseason preemptions, making this data subject to adjustments.

CBS was first in ratings with a 1.2 rating/5 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 5.0 million, according to preliminary numbers. After repeats, “Big Brother” at 9 p.m. got a 2.0/8 and 6.6 million viewers. “Zoo” at 10 pulled a 0.6/3 and 2.8 million viewers.

NBC was second in ratings with a 1.0/4 and in viewers with 4.8 million. “The Wall” at 8 received a 1.2/5 and 5.8 million viewers. “Weekend Update” at 9 got a 1.2/5 and 4.5 million viewers. At 10, “The Night Shift” snagged a 0.8/3 and 4.0 million viewers.

Fox and Telemundo tied for third in ratings with a 0.7/3; Fox was fourth in total viewers with 2.4 million, and Telemundo was sixth with 1.65 million.

For Fox, “Beat Shazam” at 8 had a 0.8/3 and 2.5 million viewers, while “Love Connection” followed at 9 with a 0.6/2 and 2.3 million viewers.

ABC was fifth in ratings with a 0.6/3 and third in total viewers with 2.6 million. “Boy Band” at 8 pulled a 0.6/3 and 2.7 million viewers, and “Battle of the Network Stars” put up a 0.6/3 and 2.7 million viewers. At 10, “The Gong Show” managed a 0.6/3 and 2.5 million viewers.

The CW and Univision tied for sixth in ratings with a 0.4/2; The CW was fifth in total viewers with 1.7 million, and Univision was seventh with 1.4 million.

On The CW, “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” at 8 had a 0.4/2 and 1.9 million viewers. “Whose Line Is It Anyway” snagged a 0.4/2 and 1.6 million viewers.
