‘Titans’ Season 2 Teaser Reveals First Look at Bruce Wayne and Deathstroke (Video)

DC Universe series returns Sept. 6

DC Universe dropped the first teaser for Season 2 of “Titans” on Tuesday, which featured the first looks at Bruce Wayne, Deathstroke and even a little Superboy.

The DC Universe series is adding a slew of well-known comic book characters for Season 2, including “Game of Thrones” alum Iain Glen as an elder, post-Batman Wayne and Esai Morales as the villain Deathstroke. Other characters that will be introduced include Jericho (Chella Man), Aqualad (Drew Van Acker) and Superboy (Joshua Orpin).

“Titans” is the flagship series for the DC Comics-branded streaming service, which launched last August. The service’s second series, “Doom Patrol,” debuted in February, and will return for a second season that will stream on both DC Universe and the upcoming HBO Max. DC Universe also has the animated “Harley Quinn” and live-action “Stargirl” on the horizon.

“Titans” is based on DC’s long-running young superheroes team “Teen Titans,” which first banded together in 1964 on the pages of DC’s “The Brave and the Bold” in a story by writer Bob Haney and artist Bruno Premiani. Originally consisting of sidekicks Robin, Aqualad and Kid Flash, the team got its own eponymous series in 1966 and has been rebooted several times since with a frequently-changing lineup. The DC Universe series is based in part on the 1980s incarnation of the team created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez. In addition to Raven and Robin, it will include Starfire and Beast Boy.

The series stars Brendan Thwaits as Dick Grayson/Robin and features Teagan Croft, Anna Diop, Ryan Potter, Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly.

Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter are executive producers for the series from Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.

“Titans” returns for Season 2 on Sept. 6.
