Tobey Maguire might be a little too sharp of a card player.
Star Magazine, in a preview story posted at Radar Online, reports that the former "Spider-Man" star has been slapped with a lawsuit by the trust of incarcerated hedge-fund manager Bradley Ruderman, who says that he lost more than $300,000 to Maguire in high-stakes poker games at ritzy Los Angeles locales such as the Four Seasons and Peninsula hotels between 2007 and 2008.

Ruderman is currently in prison for running a Ponzi scheme in which numerous clients of his were defrauded — a scheme that he hatched, at least in part, to pay off his gambling debts to Maguire and others, according to the suit. Now Ruderman's company, Ruderman Capital Partners, is broke and trying to recoup money way it can — including trying to retrieve the money that Ruderman lost, which the state of California considers illegal earnings.
Overall, according to TMZ, Ruderman lost $5.2 million in the games, including $311,300 to Maguire — $110,000 of that in a single hand in 2007, the suit alleges.
Other Hollywood bigwigs involved in the high-stakes games include Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, multiple members of the poker ring tell Star, though they are not being sued.
Maguire's representative did not immediately respond to TheWrap's request for comment.
